Alam Sutera strives to reach IDR240 billion profit

JAKARTA: Publicly listed property developer PT Alam Sutera Realty Tbk is optimistic to overtake its target of IDR800 billion revenue and IDR240 billion net profit at the end of year, even though the second half of sales is predictably hampered by holiday.

The management of Alam Sutera represented by Director Joseph Sanusi Tiong and Lilia S. Sukotio in its disclosure yesterday conceded its last year's revenue around by IDR400 billion.

"This year [revenue] is projected to reach by IDR800 billion including its net income target within by IDR230 billion to IDR240 billion. The higher net income percentage stands predictably more than 30%," said the management explained the results of public expose.

According to them, the optimism in achieiving the revenue and income target as the cost growth is not too drastic, while sales prices continue to rise.

Tjong and Lilia added that the marketing sales in the first half has reached by IDR1 trillion.

"The company targets to reach IDR1.5 trillion in 2010, however, the sales in the second half of 2010 would not be higher than that of in the first half because of the number of holiday as Lebaran and Christmas. The sales usually rise in September and October, but now Lebaran day dated in September," Tjong explained.

Corporate Secretary of Alam Sutera Hendra Kurniawan continued that the sales volume of property product that is being run through first half of 2010 touched by IDR396.8 billion and successfully bossted the net income valued by IDR123.9 billion.

Hendra also said that the net income booked in first half of this year was higher by 86% than that of in same period of last year.

The sales' increase of 70% in the first half of this year, as he stated, was contributed by the increase of land prices bought by a number consumers to construct their residentials independently.

"Land prices rose rapidly in Alam Sutera. As an illustration, the land price in the Sutera Alba cluster has reached IDR4 million per square meter, while for the commercial area land prices touched IDR6 million per square meter," he said.

The sales composition in Alam Sutera consisted by 60% for residential area and the rest of 40% for commercial area.

Alam Sutera Realty, a ASRI-coded company, has a land total by 1,225 hectare by the composition consisted 1,100 ha for decision-lettered land and 800 ha for exempt land. (t01/wiw)
