Enseval Megatrading 1H sales up 10.6%

JAKARTA: PT Enseval Putera Megatrading Tbk, one of the largest pharmaceutical distributor in Indonesia, booked first half sales of IDR4.41 trillion or rose by 10.6% compared with same period last year
The management of Enseval revealed that the company's total asset increased from IDR2.89 trillion to IDR3.47 trillion or climb up by 20%.
The company in its financial statement noted an increase of total liabilities from IDR1.47 trillion to IDR1.83 trillion. The company's equity also increased by 15.3% from IDR1.42 trillion to IDR1.64 trillion.
The company's sales in the first half of the year rose 10.6% from the first half of 2009 which amounted to IDR3.98 trillion.
However, the company's gross income in the first half of this year recorded a slight loss of 6.2% to IDR477, 6 billion, compared with the gross income of IDR509.2 billion in the same period last year.
"The decline on cost of goods sold was triggered by an increase in cost of sales which is higher than the increase in the company's sales," said management in a press release cited from the official website of Enseval.
The management of Enseval explained the cost of goods sales increased by 13.1% compared with same period last year as the increase on the price of the company's main products and the influence on the portfolio products that was sold during the first half of the year.
Operating expenses of the company during the first 6 months reached IDR334.8 billion or increased by 11.6% compared with the first half of 2010.
The company's selling expenses in the first half of 2010 stood at IDR277.6 billion, while general and administrative expenses amounted to IDR57.2 billion.
Thus, the company recorded an operating profit amounted to IDR142.8 billion, declined by 31.7% compared to IDR209, 3 billion in the first half of last year.
Therefore, Enseval was only able to print a net income of IDR99.1 billion in the first half or decreased by 32.9% compared to IDR147.7 billion last year.
